10 Ways to Change Your Energy Today and Call in More Magic

So much of your life depends on the energy you are putting out into the world. What you give out, is what you call back in.

Imagine when someone in your life asks you for something but their energy feels off in some way, perhaps slightly manipulative or as though they’re a bit unsure about what they’re asking - you feel it don’t you. And then you’re less likely to help them, no matter how well they have spun their words.

We all feel energy before we hear words. So when you are craving to see more magic in your life but the energy doesn’t match the words and messages you’re putting into the Universe, you’re less likely to see the magic. For instance, if you are looking for new clients but have an energy of ‘I need a client NOW’ because you’re in a space of lack, then that energy will repel any clients who may be attracted to you.

So here are some simple tips to SHIFT your energy and help you, over a period of time, build up a higher energetic vibration to allow more magic into your life until a magical life just becomes your default.

  1. Cry - yep, let it all out, stomp, stamp and scream. I have put this first because it’s the one we want to do the least, especially if you have been introduced to the law of attraction and believe that only being ‘positive’ all the time will allow you to attract the life you want. NOPE. Any emotion or energy you are ignoring, avoiding or repressing will get stuck in your body and will have to be released somehow, it’s better that you’re honest with yourself to begin with and release the emotion in some way as it comes up. Physical illness and external challenges are often caused by emotion and situations we repress causing karmic cycles (cause and effect) this is why it is so important to deal with them as they arise. You may not always be able to cry, stamp and scream, say for instance you’re on your way to dinner with friends, BUT when you have time alone, create a safe space and let it all out baby.

  2. Breathwork - on a similar theme, certain breathworks really help shift the energy and align your nervous system. Different styles offer different experiences, some help elevate energy if you’re feeling a little tired and low energy, others will help you to really stick into that emotion that is coming up. Others help you get a good night's sleep. Do some research on what you’re looking for and make sure you follow trusted guidance, especially if you’re a beginner.

  3. Take up meditation or switch up your meditation technique. I cannot recommend meditation enough (it saved my life in so many ways). Cultivating a connection with your Whole self, mind, body, spirit is extremely powerful as you move throughout life. Over time, meditation helps you heal karma, heal the body and raise your consciousness so that you are sort of upgrading your system, if you like. There are so many different styles of meditation as well, transcendental, vipassana and millions of guided meditation available on YouTube and apps like InsightTimer (you can find my meditations on both!) - there is literally something for everyone. I personally believe everyone should have a silent meditation practice and use guided meditations on top, to really cultivate that inner power.

  4. Change up your exercise routine to have more fun and connect to yourself more. Exercise doesn’t have to always be running, lifting weights or even yoga! Listen to your body and what your body needs and wants. Perhaps a slow, long walk in nature might serve your energy best or perhaps you want to try something completely new like aerial hoop & silks or joining a group sport.

    • I also want to encourage you to simply move your body when you feel called to. Dance while the kettle boils or while you’re making dinner. Dance in front of the mirror, have a solo (or group) dance party on a Sunday afternoon. Dancing is SO MUCH FUN, once you let the ego & thinking mind simmer down and really get into your body boy does the energy flow!

  5. Spruce up your living space, have a declutter and bring in something fresh. Sage the place, light some incense. Get rid of ANYTHING that doesn’t bring you joy, you will be surprised of the crap you have accumulated that you chuck away. Take it to charity (good deed for the day!) because one persons rubbish is someone elses treasure. Why do we hang on to so much stuff? Emotionally and physically!! Let it go!

  6. Go and take a shower. A cold one! Especially to reset your energy. Orrrrr… if you are perhaps calling in more abundance into your life, light some candles and soak in a hot bath.

  7. Go through all areas of your life with a fine tooth comb. Use the free aspects of life mandala found on my website or in the description and journal on what is fulfilling you right now and what isn’t. Assess each area out of 10, 10 being amazing, 1 being totally crap. What is the gap, what needs changing?

  8. Make the change in your life that you know you need to but daren’t. Fortune favors the bold and one door must close before another can open. Take responsibility for the creation of your life and do the thing. Move house. Leave the relationship. Buy some new shoes. Do the thing you know you need to do but have been putting off.

  9. Create some routine in your life to connect yourself and really align for your best energetic Self every day. Have a look at your morning routine, what could be improved? Longer meditation? Exercise? Journaling? Do you need to switch up your I AM statements? And remember your best day ever starts the night before, what does your evening routine look like? Do you destress with a glass of wine or by connecting to nature? Are you scrolling social media until 10pm or reading a nourishing book? Can you meditate for 10 minutes extra? Morning and evening routines are the most important parts of my day, while they don’t look the same all the time and I’m not totally rigid as the ‘miracle morning’ crew, I know what works for me and what helps me live my life and I do that. 

  10. Be bold, be bold & courageous enough to take responsibility and live in alignment with your True Self. If you only had a week left on this planet would you be happy with how you are living? What are the dreams you wish to see manifest? How can you take inspired action towards your goals? If it is a desire within your heart then know it is already yours, your desires are given to you for a reason. You have to claim it and work towards it, every day. You are living this one magical life, how can you devote your every action to making it one you love?

On a final note, I think it is important to ask yourself what type of energy you want to live in? The type of energy you want to have in your life? And do the things that align with that. Take what resonates with you and leave what doesn’t. Connect to yourself, bring more awareness into your life and learn to understand your mind - this will help you call more magic into your life day in and day out. This is your life, bring in that which serves you and release what doesn’t.
