How to Find Your Purpose

I’m a big believer that we all know what our ‘purpose’ in life is. It may not always be the easiest thing to figure out because we constantly doubt ourselves but you’ll have heard the whispers - your intuition knows what your purpose is.

I’ve known a big purpose of my own is to support and empower people since first starting my first business, Roseanna Croft Jewellery, almost 7 years ago. It just came naturally to me when I first started taking an interest in my role as an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust where I would speak to the groups on their Enterprise Programme and sharing my journey to donors. I then went on to set up a networking group for women in Derby to help with personal and business development.

I’ve always been guided to things such as this as its what I’m passionate about. I want to see people thrive and succeed. I know it’s possible for you to live an amazing life, I want you to know that too.

If you’re struggling to hear the whispers and understand your purpose then I think a good place to start is thinking about what you most need in life? What is it you’re drawn to?

For me when I started out in business I needed encouragement and support, I therefore went on to offer that to other people because that’s what I was drawn to. A Course In Miracles states ‘we are that which we seek.’ Which I take to mean, that which we most crave, we already are.

If you want abundance, learn that you are already abundant. If you admire someone because of a certain trait they have? You already have that trait inside you.

I needed support and encouragement and I found it really easy to offer that to other people - I’d found my purpose. I fulfill this purpose in many ways, as you can too. Your purpose does not need to tie you to one thing.

I feel we can stop making the ‘search’ for our purpose in life difficult because I think you already know it. If you’re unsure, then some meditation and journaling could help you gain clarity.

Some things to think about when searching for your purpose:

  • What do you find yourself most drawn to in life?

  • Do you have a particular passion? (Fashion, animals etc)

  • Where do you find you need support or have needed support in the past? (Money, love, business etc)

  • If you could do anything in the world what would it be?

But ultimately, listen to the whispers because you do already know, your intuition is trying to tell you. I promise it doesn’t need to be that complicated.

Also remember when considering your purpose is to fulfill what you most need first. You can’t help others if you’re not helping yourself. Make your own joy and inspiration your biggest purpose and from that you can help the world in any way you want. Remember, there are infinite possibilities available to you.
