A Magical Life is a State Of Mind: How to Create Yours

I Am Here to Help You Believe in Magic Again

As a child and for most of my adult life I have lived in a daydream (I am a Pisces…!) and my fantasy world was my escape from reality, my parents divorce, the bullying at school etc etc. and I so wanted to believe in magic, I wanted to believe that I would get sent a letter to go to Hogwarts at 11 and then maybe I would be told that I was a witch at 16 like Sabrina.

Constantly finding a false sense of peace at the idea that I can run away from the reality I was in. I am sure that you can relate…

Now that I am quite a bit older and have experienced more ‘pain’ in my experience and as I help others navigate through their own challenges, I want to help you believe in magic once again.

This time though, not to escape reality but to thrive in reality. What if magic was real? Not to take away your pain but to enliven your experience as a human being living in a Universe that needs polarity to even exist.

This Universe, the world we are blessed to be alive in, requires polarity to function. Without the polarity of energies there would never have been a big bang. Humans wouldn’t evolve without masculine and feminine. The flowers wouldn’t bloom without the winter and the sun wouldn’t rise if it didn’t set 12 hours before.

Therefore, we need the experiences that make us sad as much as we need experiences that make us happy in order to live an aligned and balanced life. We’re never taught how to experience pain though and so the ego will do anything it can to avoid it, creating a desire for pleasure and pushing pain into the shadows - this is when we can look to escape reality.

“Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” - Dalai Lama

I love this quote because it’s spot on, we will experience pain in life, we can’t grow without it, but we can choose our level of suffering.

The more we can accept a situation, the less we will suffer. Suffering is created through resistance to a situation and the thoughts and stories our mind tells us about it.

‘What has this got to do with a magical life?’ An aligned life is a magical life. One where we embrace all of our experience, the good, the bad and the ugly.

On an energetic & spiritual level, when your energy is in alignment (your chakra system, being balanced, open and connected) you are more receptive to positive experiences. The work of Dr Joe Dispenza is proving the science behind Kundalini energy, seeing thousands of spontaneous remissions and so called ‘miracles’ in people’s lives after attending one of his events or doing his ‘Balancing of the Energy Centres’ meditations for instance. There is now a ton of scientific evidence that keeping your energy in alignment will make your life more easeful and reduce your level of ‘suffering.’ (You can use this meditation to help you get your energy centres into alignment.)

On a more human and physical level, let’s talk about magic and balance. When does your life feel most magical? Perhaps when you’re watching a sunset? Holding a loved one? Dancing, listening to music or being creative in some way?

How does that feel in your body? What do you notice? What you may notice is that you’re totally present in the moment. You may also notice that when you’re present you’re less in your thoughts, therefore less judgemental and more accepting. Embracing life for everything you’re experiencing in that moment.

So, can you bring this energy into your life every single day? Maybe you’re enjoying your morning coffee or maybe you’re experiencing a challenging conversation. In every moment you’re present and understand the situation for what it is, not getting caught up in your thoughts, you can experience magic knowing that what you’re receiving in that moment is a blessing or a lesson. Both of these are for your growth on your soul’s journey.

A magical life is an aligned life, accepting and embracing your experience and finding the beauty in it. When you look for the beauty in every moment, you will find more moments to be grateful for.

Four ways to make your life more magical today:

  1. Think of a challenging situation you’re facing, what can you accept about it and where can you release judgement of it?

  2. What magical moments can you notice in your life every single day? Try noting them down before you go to bed, there will soon be more and more and you’ll be going to sleep in awe of the magic that continues to happen throughout your life.

  3. Create a devotional practice to your Self and your magical life. This could (highly recommended) include meditation, a silent practice and perhaps a guided and supported practice, dancing every day, journaling to connect with your intuition and having a creative outlet.

  4. Work with a life coach or spiritual mentor to help with your growth and create the life you desire. When you’re actively working towards your North Star and soul’s purpose, living an embodied life you slip into more alignment, releasing suffering and embracing the magic of your true nature.

I know that a magical life is possible because I have created one and so have my clients. It’s important to release the idea of a perfect life and embrace the magic of an imperfect life, knowing that every moment you dedicate to your Self and your highest vision you create magic.

I can support you in this through private life-coaching packages or by being your guide through meditation. I am a certified Jungian & Spiritual Life Coach, helping people like you live a life of meaning and evolve, discovering who you truly are and creating a life aligned with that.
